UAV RF System Challenges
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) RF systems face the triple challenges of complex electromagnetic environment, multi-band coexistence and miniaturization. Flight control, digital transmission, map transmission and positioning links need to realize efficient electromagnetic compatibility in limited space, which puts severe requirements on the selection of RF passive components. Based on LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) process, Hecom provides antenna and filter solutions covering GNSS, UWB, 5.8GHz and other frequency bands.
Application Scenarios of Hecom Products
GNSS high-precision positioning
UAV RTK/PPK positioning system relies on multi-constellation GNSS signal reception, and L1/L2/L5 multi-band antennas need to have anti-multipath capability. Hecom provides small-sized ceramic GNSS antennas with LTCC bandpass filters, which can effectively suppress the interference of neighboring frequencies in L-band and improve the positioning accuracy to centimeter level.
UWB indoor/near-field localization
In scenarios where GNSS signals are limited (indoor warehouses, confined spaces), UWB positioning can supplement the accumulated error of visual odometry. Hopcom's UWB antenna and filter combinations covering the CH5 to CH9 frequency bands support mainstream UWB chip platforms such as Qorvo DW3000, which are suitable for UAV indoor obstacle avoidance and formation collaboration applications.
5.8GHz map and digital transmission link
Consumer and industrial UAVs commonly use the 5.8GHz band for HD mapping and control link transmission. As this band is densely populated with devices, Hecom LTCC filters can suppress interference from WiFi 5GHz and neighboring bands to ensure stable transmission of the mapping link.
RF Power & Anti-jamming
Molding Inductor is used in the power filter module of UAV flight control and mapping system to suppress the high frequency switching noise of DC-DC converter and reduce the interference to RF sensitive circuits.
